>From what I read about the U23 and U30 B and C, the four and six axle
locomotives of these two models (i.e. U23B and U30B and U23C and U30C, had
identical carbodies, except for the door arrangement and a 12 cylinder engine
in the 23 line versus the 16 cylinder engine in the 30 line, and even the
physical dimensions were the same for the 23 and 30Bs and the 23Cs and 30Cs.
So you could get away with using a U30c to pinch hit as a U23c, just change
the road number.
